Book
Summary Book:
Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride 'Jesus
Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride' is a pro-Christian, non-fiction
regarding the use of wine and other alcoholic beverages during antiquity, the
repentance of Judas Iscariot in Matthew 27:3 and God's divorce from Israel (Isaiah
50:1) and divorce in the modern world. This book forces you to re-evaluate your
understanding of the bible, re-look at the passages and re-consider their meaning.
Examples of common biblical knowledge that
is challenged
When it comes to real-life
issues, most people don't know what the bible says. The
prophet Ezra (Ezra 10: 3-5) blessed a divorce and proclaimed that the men should
"be of good courage, and do it." Ask anybody
how many animals of each kind Noah took on the ark and they'll probably say two!
God told Noah to take fourteen of most. Regarding
forgiveness, Mathew 27:3 clearly states that Judas (a.) repented, (b.) confessed
his sin publicly and (c.) gave the money back.
Why
is this book different? Using solid Biblical
references, this book seeks to stir up heightened interest in what the Bible says
by questioning even the most primary, and most popular biblical teachings. MOST
religious books are "sugar coated" and non-controversial. But, the Bible
isn't that way. Neither is Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride.
If you do an objective study of the contents of the Bible, you'll discover that
God can be quite a difficult God. While much of Christ popularity came from the
miracles he performed, those in power took notice because of his understanding
of Hebrew law (Old Testament) and his outspoken intolerance for arrogance and
self-righteousness among the "religious" crowd.

Book from Happy About Comments
on "Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God Divorced His Bride"
by Steve Brown which was already mentioned in the New York Times. Why
did the author write this book: Through the
years, I was taught in error regarding the subjects within this book. For example
(let's keep it simple) most people think Noah took two of all the animals on the
ark, however it was fourteen (Genesis 7:2.) Granted, the number of animals on
the ark isn't important, but the teaching on divorce is a different story. As
I searched through the Bible, I realized that flawed teaching (on many important
life subjects) is widespread throughout our society. After 5,000 hours of research
and with editing by James T. McDonough, Ph. D. Ph.D. in Greek, and who has taught
Biblical Greek to Roman Catholic preseminarians at the Jesuit college in Philadelphia,
to Protestant seminarians at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and to secular
doctoral students of Bible at Temple University, the writing is arguably accurate.
What
will the reader walk away with after reading the book? -
A far greater understanding of the bible and it's implications
- A
biblical understanding of forgiveness, and our responsibility to forgive
"The
title is shocking and the contents amazing! This is truly a new display of grace
directly from the word of God. Every Christian, historian, and even atheist should
read this book, highly recommended!" Wayne Sutton, TheSecondAdam.com "After
Reading over 300 Christian titles (including the Bible,) there's no doubts this
book will shift your thoughts, challenge your beliefs, and open your heart to
the true grace and love of God. I bought it out of pure curiosity, studied it
with eyes wide open, and fell even deeper in love with the truths that most people
have never been taught before!" Rome Batchelor, Entrepreneur "In
this book, the author, in keeping with the tradition of Ezra who read the entire
scroll of the Torah to the people, and interpreted the deeper meanings of the
stories of the Torah to the assembled crowd, is showing how the scripture can
be made meaningful to todays time. In the old days, the words were spoken
as a story and explained based on the needs of the moment. Later, fear of loss,
created the written word which became dogma. I applaud the effort to resurrect
the tradition of telling these beautiful stories and embellish them with a moral
lesson germane to current affairs." Sam Gill, Professor, San Francisco
State University "Of course, Jesus drank
wine. Of course, Judas had some regrets. Of course, some Old Testament prophets
used the metaphor that God was like a faithful husband to his people Israel, but
Israel was so unfaithful to God that God must divorce her. If this were all, the
book would be proving the obvious. But, time after time the book proved to be
a powerful presentation and promotion of the most basic ideas of Christianity,
loving, giving, and forgiving. And it manages to get this message across, not
in the stuffy, pompous language of many sermons, but in delightfully colloquial
English. Enjoy it!" James T. McDonough, Jr., Ph.D. from Columbia
University and Biblical Studies Professor at a number of Universities. "...an
engaging and thoughtful book that will hopefully help launch the reader out of
the glib, one-dimensional "comfort-zone" that so many Christians live
in with regard to understanding the Scriptures. While I don't agree with one key
premise, more a provocative suggestion really, that Mr. Brown presents (see John
17:12), I nonetheless enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who wants to
"search out a matter (Proverbs 25:2) in regard to the deeper truths of God's
Word." Eric Holmberg, author, founder and director of The Apologetics
Group "A fresh look that reawakens the
well-known stories of the bible and sends you digging to hear more. It keeps you
engaged and alert and reminds you not to be a lazy learner." Robin
Willis, A Southern Female Presbyterian Running a Local Bible Studies Group

| About the Author | |
| Steve
Brown, Food Manufacturer, Real Estate Developer and Author. Nothing
has done more to harm the cause of Christ than ill-tempered Christians. Neither
drunkenness, lust for material wealth, fornication nor adultery outweighs the
sins represented in a single episode of ill temper. Divorce
was a life changing experience for me. I felt Christ still cared and had forgiven
me, but it seemed that most Christians felt otherwise. Discouraged with the self-righteous
attitudes of others, I began searching the scriptures to learn what the Bible
actually says about divorce. What I discovered is that God divorced his own bride
(Isaiah 50:1) and that a divorce of hundreds pleased God (Ezra 10:11.) As I asked
myself, What else have I not learned? I began to write. Matthew
27: 3 states that Judas Iscariot repented, confessed his sin publicly
and returned the money. Id never heard anybody expound on these facts. While
nobody can prove the final disposition of Judas, the scriptures provide compelling
evidence that Judas Iscariot found grace. As I studied,
I also found primary stories that were quite provocative. For example, (as mentioned
above) Noah took fourteen reindeer on the ark. Then consider the story of David
and Goliath: I want my children to know why, at first sight David ran from Goliath
(I Samuel 17: 24) and I want my children to know why he came back and killed Goliath.
Sadly, this is a powerful, life-changing true story that is virtually untold. With
heavy research and hundreds of footnotes, 'Jesus Drank, Judas Repented and God
Divorced His Bride' is a roller-coaster ride through bible facts, history and
sensitive life subjects that have been ignored by the mainstream church for centuries.
Love and forgiveness are the central themes and most readers will discover new
answers to old problems. Unbelievable, but true life-changing answers.
